Zooey Deschanel inspired Tuxedo nails!

So, I've seen Zooey's nails quite frequently the past few days, amongst various bloggers, also! I was really excited to try out my new No7 Nail Art Pen, so I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to create a simple, yet effective nail design!

Firstly, apologies on the quality of these photographs, I didn't realise until I created this post! Anyway, I love the final outcome! I didn't expect them to look so good! So, I started my coating my nails with a few coats of Avon SpeedDry, until I was happy with the finish. I then took my nail pen, & used the nib part of the pen, opposed to the brush, & applied a cross to the top of the nail, then filled in the outsides & the middle to create a bow. Once I have done this, & neatened up the edges to create a preciser finish. I then applied three dots as buttons & finally applied a black line, as a tip, to create a shirt effect. I finished off the nail with No7 Top Coat, to seal in all the layers & a lovely shiny finish!

This is so simple to create. & the outcome id so effective. I chose to apply a pink/nude polish, simply as I don't own a white polish. Never the less, I think using a pink colour gives a great outcome & a girly look! I can't wait to create more looks with these amazing nail pens. They really affordable, as many brands now sell them. They're so easy to apply. Worthy investment!

I hope you enjoyed reading this, as much as I did creating this look!

Thank you!

  4. Amazing job, definitely neat for a first attempt! I agree with the nude base choice, more subtle and classier than the white in my opinion x

  5. Thank you very much for the lovely compliment! I know what you mean, with the base. The black & white is more obvious for the design, but the nude shade adds a subtle twist for everyday wear.
